What it does
- Syncs from the menu bar. Claude Code and Codex sessions in the repositories you opt in go to your brain. Sessions anywhere else never leave your Mac.
- Live. A session syncs once it has been quiet for two minutes. Or press Sync Now, or sync every 15 minutes.
- Redacts on your Mac. Secrets and email addresses are removed before anything is sent.
- A window onto your brain. Read and edit the wiki, ask with citations, browse synced agent sessions by project, and see usage if you are a workspace admin.
- Nothing else to install. It carries its own copy of the livingbrain command-line tool and runs it for every sync.
First open
This build is not notarized by Apple yet, so macOS stops the first open with “Apple could not verify Living Brain”. That is expected. To open it:
- Open LivingBrain.dmg and drag Living Brain to Applications.
- In Applications, Control-click (or right-click) Living Brain, choose Open, then Open again.
- If macOS still refuses (macOS 15 and later always do), open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Living Brain, click Open Anyway and confirm.
You do this once. To check the download first, run shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/LivingBrain.dmg and compare it with the SHA-256 above. A notarized build is planned.
Then sign in
- Click the brain in the menu bar and choose Sign In…. Approve the code in your browser.
- Choose Add Project… and pick a repository. Only opted-in repositories sync.
- Open the window with Open Living Brain Window… for the wiki, Ask and your sessions.
